Rishabh Pant made an emotional comeback  in IPL 2024 after his unfortunate accident back in 2022. He struggled in the first couple of games, but then came into his own against CSK and KKR, and it looked like he would continue his form against MI as well. 

However, he could not get going at Wankhede and departed on 1 as he tried to play a helicopter shot that went horribly wrong.

It was the last delivery of the 16th over and Coetzee bowled it full around the leg stump line. Pant got into an awkward position and tried to play an helicopter shot. However, all he got was a big top edge that went high in the air towards point and Hardik Pandya running to his right took a fine catch.

The wicket of Pant was a big one for Mumbai Indians but Tristan Stubbs continued his fight and played a blinder of knock, smashing MI bowlers all over the park. However, it was too much to do for one man and Mumbai Indians ended up registering its first win of the season.
