The much-anticipated opening Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 is finally underway and India are on the backoot with more than half of the side back to the pavilion with a score still under 100. The rivalry between the two nations has been quite intense over the years, but IPL has added a friendly dimension to it.
Now, on the opening day of the first Test match at the Optus Stadium, the shades of IPL friendship were quite evident as Rishabh Pant and Mitchell Marsh shared a heartwarming moment.
It was the first over after Lunch and Mitchell Marsh was the bowler for Australia. Rishabh Pant and Dhruv Jurel were at the crease for India and as Marsh crossed both the batters, the Indian star and Aussie all-rounder shared a friendly fist-pump.
Mitchell Marsh's Twin-Strikes Sink India After Lunch
Mitchell Marsh eventually made an impact with the ball as well and grabbed crucial wickets of Dhruv Jurel and Washington Sundar. For India, Rishabh Pant is crucial and he would have to bat deep and take India to atleast over 200 to challenge Aussies in the rest of the game.
Earlier, India won the toss and elected to bat first, but Aussies grabbed four wickets in the first session as Indian batters failed to tackle the pace and bounce of Perth. Along with Mitchell Marsh, Starc and Hazlewood have also grabbed two wickets each, and the visitors have a lot of heavy lifting to do after early hiccups.
