India are locking horns against Bangladesh in the first Test match of the two-match series at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. One of the highlight of this series was the return of Rishabh Pant to Test Cricket after 2022.

He made his Test cricket return after 633 days and on Day 3, he reminded everyone of his ability to shift the momentum with audacious stroke play. Having already hinted at his returning form in the first innings with a composed 39, Rishabh Pant truly stole the spotlight in the second innings, where he showcased his signature fearless batting.

On his way to a crucial half-century, one particular shot in the 39th over stood out that perfectly encapsulated Pant’s aggressive and unorthodox style.

Facing Mehidy Hasan Miraz, he stepped down the track and displayed a fearless advance shot even though the ball was a flighted off-break pitched outside the off stump. Pant dance down the track and committed fully to the stroke.

He aimed for a lofted hit straight down the ground but he swung hard, in order to clear the ropes but his bottom hand slipped off the handle. But despite losing control, his immense power and timing were enough to propel the ball over the wide long-off boundary.

India's Strong Position Against Bangladesh

On Day 2, India lost the early wickets, of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma. After the openers were dismissed Virat Kohli also departed trapped in front of leg-before-wicket decision.

Replays showed that there was a spike on the bat but Kohli decided not to take a review and walked off the field. Then Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant stabilised the innings and pushed India's lead past 450.

At the time of writing, India are leading by 445 runs, with special century from Rishabh Pant ( 109 off 128 balls) and Shubman Gill is still batting and is heading towards his century.
