Coming in to bat in the rain-affected Kolkata-Mumbai clash, Rinku Singh yet again faced Piyush Chawla early on in the innings after being dismissed by him in their last encounter at Wankhede.

Facing just the second delivery of the match, Rinku Singh took it upon himself to take on the veteran leg spinner as he stepped out of his crease to whop him over the cow corner for a massive six over the cow corner to open his account on the day.

The incident took place on the second ball of the 13th over where Mumbai Indians were looking to capitalize on Nitish Rana's wicket in the previous over on a bullet throw off Tilak Varma.

Chawla flighted it in front of Rinku, asking him to attack and hoping for him to falter. However, the southpaw had other ideas tonight, unlike the last game where he played the looped delivery straight back the the bowler.

Rinku casually advanced down the wicket and sweetly timed it with the middle, giving fielders no chance of catching it.

Chawla was coming into the over after dismissing Venkatesh Iyer on his very first ball while Rinku came in, trying to find some rhythm back. The bowler ended his spell with 2/28 in the allowed 3 overs.

KKR finished the innings well at 157/7 while the 26-year-old, UP batter contributed 20 (12). At the time of writing, MI finds themselves 65-1 after the first seven overs of the run-chase.
