In the fifth and final T20I encounter between India and Zimbabwe at Harare Sports Club, Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to field first. The Indian batting line-up endured a shaky start as they lost wickets consistently in the early stages of the innings.

However, a crucial fourth-wicket partnership between Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag provided much-needed stability.

The Rajasthan Royals duo combined for a well-constructed 65-run stand to rescue India from a precarious position.

Shivam Dube played a swashbuckling cameo, scoring a quickfire 26 runs off just 12 deliveries before disaster struck in the form of a misunderstanding with his teammate Rinku Singh that led to his run-out in the last over.

Rinku smashed a powerful lofted drive towards extra cover, where the Zimbabwean skipper Raza spilled the catch. Seeing the opportunity for a single, Dube called for a run. Unfortunately, Rinku was caught ball-watching and didn't respond, leaving Dube stranded halfway down the pitch.

Akram, the Zimbabwean bowler, made no mistake as he collected the throw from Raza and whipped the bails off, sending Dube back to the pavilion.

India managed to recover from their early setbacks to post a competitive total of 167/6 in 20 overs. Yashasvi Jaiswal had an explosive start by hitting two sixes in one legal delivery, but Sikandar Raza dismissed him shortly after. Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma settled in but couldn't convert their starts into big scores.
