Indian opener, Yashasvi Jaiswal created a world record 12 runs from the first legal delivery of the match as India took on Zimbabwe in the 5th T20I at Harare Sports Club on Sunday, July 14.

After being asked to bat first after losing the toss, Yashasvi Jaiswal took the strike on the first ball and faced the Zimbabwe skipper, Sikandar Raza to start the innings. Following his 93*(53) in the last match, Jaiswal carried the confidence into the last match of the series.

Raza bowled a juicy full toss around the off stumps to start the proceedings and Yashasvi rightfully punished it by slog-sweeping it over the mid-wicket for a six, the third umpire also called it as a no ball for overstepping.

The left-handed batter, yet again attacked the Zimbabwe captain on the first legal delivery which was in his slot outside the off stump by clearing the front leg to hit another six, this time straight over the bowler's head.

With these two sixes, Yashasvi Jaiswal became the first-ever player to score 12 runs from 1 legal delivery in T20I cricket (+ 1 run including no-ball).

Raza, however, dismissed Jaiswal in the same over without letting the batter add any more runs. India finished the first innings with a score of 167/6 which they will try to defend and finish the tour with 4th win in the series.
