Shreyanka Patil consigned the visiting England A Women’s team to a close defeat by delivering a tight last over at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. Defending 13 runs from the final six balls of the match, the right-arm off-spinner conceded five wides off her first delivery before keeping the visitors three runs away from India A Women’s total.
Patil picked the key wickets of England A opener Grace Scrivens and Ryana MacDonald-Gay to finish her spell at 2-26 from four overs.

RCB star Shreyanka Patil, after leaking five wides upfront against England A Women in the final over, conceded just four additional singles off the subsequent six legal deliveries to lead India A to a hard-fought three-run win in Mumbai.

Apart from trapping England A lower-order batter Ryana MacDonald-Gay in the penultimate ball of the match, Shreyanka Patil had also accounted for opener Grace Scrivens in her first over.
Her match-winning spell ensured India A Women defended their 134-run total by three runs, and allowed them to go 1-0 up in their three-match T20 series.
Patil, a star in the making, made her WPL debut earlier this year through the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) franchise, where she shared the dressing room with the likes of international stars Smriti Mandhana and Ellyse Perry.
A few months later, the 21-year-old expanded her T20 profile by representing Guyana Amazon Warriors Women at the 2023 CPL season.
The youngster will now be seen reprising her role in India A’s second match of their ongoing series against the visiting Englishwomen on December 1 at the same venue.
