Glenn Maxwell had the golden opportunity to finish things off in style, but the Melbourne Stars batter crumbled and played a reckless shot to throw away his wicket. The Stars batter thought he had played a brilliant shot, but Matt Renshaw plucked a stunner to stun him.

The Stars were off to a horrendous start, chasing a tricky 150 runs. The team had lost 3 quick wickets as they were staring at the defeat. However, their star players, Marcus Stoinis and Daniel Lawrence played blinders and scored 62 and 64* respectively as the team cruised towards the win.

When Stoinis departed, Maxwell had the chance to finish off the match, but the hero of the first innings on the field turned villain as he got dismissed for duck.

Xavier Bartlett bowled a slower delivery as Maxwell backed away and slapped the delivery on the leg side. However, he found Renshaw at mid-on, who stretched with a dive to his right and grabbed a stunner to knock over the Stars' batter.

Stars break their losing streak

Today's win was Melbourne Stars' first win of the season in 6 attempts. The team boasts quality players in all departments, but were yet to win a single game in the season.

However, that streak was broken on Wednesday as after 5 games, the Stars have managed to win their first match of the season. However, despite the win, the team still languishes at the bottom of the table, as a place in the knockout stages looks difficult from here on. The team has just 2 points from 6 games, with just a solitary win.
