Fans of IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bengaluru had a heart-in-the-mouth moment as Lungi Ngidi avoided a serious injury scare despite an incredibly risky fielding effort. While his incredible grab sent Jamie Overton back into the dugout, Ngidi could've seriously injured himself had his awkward fall gone slightly wrong.

Ngidi Grabs A Stunner, Avoids Major Injury Before IPL 2025

The incident occurred during the 26th over of England's innings when Overton was batting alongside captain Jos Buttler. After two consecutive dot balls, Kagiso Rabada bowled a full-length delivery, inviting Overton to hit through the line.

As the English all-rounder tried to clear the in-field, he miscued the shot entirely, with the ball gobbling up in the air. Lungi Ngidi put up a commendable effort, running backwards and taking probably the greatest catch in this Champions Trophy edition.

However, despite falling awkwardly, Ngidi managed to recover in quick time without sustaining an injury which could've put his IPL participation in jeopardy.

As Josh Hazlewood is rehabilitating from a side injury, the RCB fans wouldn't want another setback, with the IPL 2025 looming around the corner.

England sustained their horrendous performance in the Champions Trophy, putting up another disappointing batting effort.

Apart from Joe Root, none of the English batters have breached the 30-run mark so far in the match. As a result, the Three Lions were tottering at 161 for seven in 33.1 overs, with Buttler and Archer batting on 18* and 20*, respectively.
