Marco Jansen, the South African player pulled off the catch of the tournament to end Harry Brook's miserable Champion Trophy campaign at the Karachi Stadium on Saturday. Brook looked in decent touch, but he played a rash shot and Jansen was there to take a screamer near the boundary ropes.
England opted to bat first after winning the toss and instantly regretted the decision after losing flurry of wickets. A lot was expected of Brook in this last group stage match for England, but, he too, disappointed.
Jansen takes a stunning catch
Keshav Maharaj bowled a flighted delivery as Brook swings his bat and tried to send it over the fence. He got the height, but not the distance as Jansenm, stationed at long-on charged in towards the ball and swiftly moved to his right to take a stunning diving catch.
This could be termed as the catch of the tournament as Jansen had to cover a lot of ground before he got to the ball. Harry Brook couldn't believe his luck as Jansen was delighted.
England aiming to salvage some pride
England lost the opening two matches against Australia and Afghanistan and crashed out of the tournament.
The match against South Africa was a chance to salvage some pride and also spoil the Proteas party, but the Three Lions have already lost 7 wickets as they continue their shambolic showing in the Champions Trophy 2025. If England lose, they'll bow out of the tournament without even winning a single match in the group stage.
