In the much-anticipated India vs Bangladesh Asia Cup 2023 encounter at the R. Premadasa Stadium, the cricketing world witnessed a dramatic turn of events after India opted to bowl. 

The fireworks began early as Mohammed Shami struck with precision, breaking through the defence of Litton Das. Later, Shardul Thakur delivered a crucial blow by sending the Bangladeshi Skipper Shakib Al Hasan back to the dugout. 

However, the moment that stole the limelight occurred in the 34th over when the ever-reliable Ravindra Jadeja took the ball in hand.

Jadeja delivered a length ball that left Shamim Hossain flummoxed. As soon as he appealed, the umpire raised his finger, declaring the batter out. Despite going upstairs, Bangladesh were disappointed in the end as the verdict came in India's favour, and Shamim was forced to make a long walk back to the pavilion.

But there was more to Jadeja's heroics than just one wicket. In this very match, the star all-rounder achieved a significant milestone, joining the elite club of cricketers who have claimed 200 wickets in ODIs.

As of writing, Bangladesh are 217 for seven, with Mahedi Hasan and Nasum Ahmed batting on 11* and 31*, respectively.
