Ravi Ashwin will go down as one of the finest spinners to play the game and has added another special feat in his kitty by bagging his 500th wicket in Test cricket. He got the better of Zak Crawley and got the breakthrough when India needed it the most, something which he has done right throughout his illustrious career.

Ravi Ashwin became the second fastest bowler to take 500 wickets, as he achieved the feat in just 98 Tests. He has been absolutely brilliant in Test cricket, especially in India, and has been a match-winner for over a decade now.

Talking about his 500th wicket, it was a classical off-spinner’s wicket. A tossed up delivery on middle and leg, and Zak Crawley went for the sweep shot. However, the ball caught the top edge of his blade and went in the air towards the short fine leg fielder. Rajat Patidar there, kept his cool, judged the ball perfectly and grabbed the catch in a fine fashion.

Ashwin became the second Indian bowler after Anil Kumble to take 500 wickets and would be hoping to add few more in his kitty as India look to resist England's onslaught in the third Test.

India earlier scored 445 in their first innings with centuries from Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja.
