The 2024 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy between Mumbai and Madhya Pradesh is underway at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The stadium is jam-packed, and the fans have turned up in big numbers to support their team and watch their favourite star in action. 

Mumbai won the toss and asked Madhya Pradesh to bat first in the much-awaited final. The decision turned out to be a masterstroke as Mumbai took four early wickets to leave MP crippled. Meanwhile, Rajat Patidar hogged the headlines as he was welcomed to bat with the loudest cheer. 

The fans were chanting 'RCB, RCB' as they were delighted to see their IPL talent perform in the SMAT final. Watch the video here. 


RCB Retain Rajat Patidar For IPL 2025

Playing SMAT 2024 final must be feeling like playing at home for Patidar as he has been associated with RCB since 2021. The three-time finalists showed faith in Rajat as they retained him for a whopping 11 crores. 

Patidar rose to fame in IPL 2022 after he became the first uncapped player in IPL history to score a century in playoffs. The franchise has shown quite a faith in Patidar's talent and the MP batter would look to repay that in the upcoming season. 

Rajat Patidar Shines In SMAT 2024

Madhya Pradesh skipper Patidar is having quite a season as he has amassed 365 runs in nine matches, averaging 52.14. Patidar has four fifty-plus scores in this SMAT season. His best performance came against Meghalaya on November 25 when he amassed 78 (36). 

During that period, Rajat had scored three consecutive fifty-plus scores. At the time of writing this article, MP are 87/5 after 12.2 overs.
