Rahul Dravid is not just the head coach of the Indian cricket team but also a father to his aspiring and talented son Samit, who has been making strong waves in junior cricket for Karnataka with terrific performances in the U-16 domestic tournaments.

Samit, the rising young all-rounder for Karnataka U-16, seems to have copied his father's traditional style and solid technique and even plays a few of his strokes just like the Indian batting legend and one of the finest-ever batters to have played international cricket.

In a special clip doing the rounds on social media, the U-16 Karnataka batter is seen playing a Dravid-esque cut shot against a spinner from Lancashire on Karnataka's development tour and assignment against the prominent English county club.

Showcasing perfect assessment of the length, Samit rocked on the backfoot with precision and mastery of Dravid and hammered the ball past the short-point fielder for a boundary.

For Indian fans having grown up on a dose of Dravid reinforcing his mastery and excellence at the crease, it was a perfect and emotional throwback watching Samit execute a stroke that his father played with command.

Despite being busy with his international commitments with the senior Indian team, Dravid seems to have kept a close eye on his ambitious and talented son's growth and cricketing development as evident in his technique and the way he has been shaping up in the middle.

The legend was present at the ground alongside his wife Vijeta for Samit's recent U-16 game played in Karnataka when he was free of his national duties and cheered the kid up while he was busy scoring the runs.

It would be unfair to compare and judge Samit on the esteemed standards his father maintained but the son would do himself a world of good following the man's footsteps on and off the field.
