You can’t just keep Babar Azam out of the game, whether it is in a good way or a bad way. The former Pakistan skipper stole the show yet again on Thursday (December 14) during Day 1 of their first Test match in Australia at Perth Stadium.

And to make matters worse, Sarfaraz Ahmed, another former Pakistan skipper, joined hands to make it look more ridiculous.

The incident happened after the first ball of the 64th over, when Agha Salman bowled a tossed-up delivery to David Warner. Batting on 141 off 181 deliveries, the veteran Australian opener came down the track to play, only to be beaten altogether by a sharp turn.

Sarfaraz had the opportunity to stump Warner, but the Pakistan wicket-keeper failed to collect the ball with the big gloves. The ball went on to Babar Azam at first slip, who had a simple job to do: break the stumps with ease from a short distance.

However, Babar too missed it, giving Warner a prized lifeline before he and Travis Head ran a bye to complete the drama.

However, Warner did not last long after that, as he departed for 161, which was laced with 16 fours and four sixes. Australia, meanwhile, reached 346/5 at stumps on Day 1 of the Perth Test.
