Quinton de kock has been an enigma over the years! He burst onto the scene as a talented 20-year old capable of ruling world cricket. He started off with a bang as well and over the years, has been one of the pillars of South African cricket. He, however, has also been criticized for his laid-back approach sometimes and after his retirement in Test cricket, he is set to retire from ODI cricket as well after the World Cup 2023 at the age of just 30.

So, with World Cup glory in his sights and retirement around the corner, Quinton de Kock is looking like a man on mission. He has started his World Cup campaign with a fifty and got to his fifty in 61 balls, showing maturity and taking responsibility as a senior cricketer. Sri Lanka won the toss and put Proteas into bat, and got the big wicket of Temba Bavuma in the second over itself.

However, since then, Rassie van der Dussen has joined hands with Quinton de Kock and the duo has mixed caution with aggression beautifully. Rassie was the aggressor in the beginning while Quinton de Kock batted cautiously. He played some delightful shots on his way and got to his 31st fifty.

Quinny though, started accelerating after he got to his fifty and smashed Dhananjaya De Silva for a four and six in the 23rd over. He started the 24th over with a boundary as well and at the time of writing, he is batting on 66 off 67 balls with six fours and two sixes.
