[Watch] Prasidh Krishna Stuns Australia With ‘Double Wicket’ Of Steve Smith & Short

Prasidh Krishna struck twice in two balls on Sunday (September 24) in India's second ODI against Australia at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore. The lanky fast bowler, coming in as a replacement for Jasprit Bumrah, sent Australia on the back foot after the visitors came to chase a record 400-run target.

Matthew Short was the first man to be dismissed, getting caught at deep third man after the Aussie opener threw his bat away to smash an outswinging delivery outside the off stump. Ravichandran Ashwin took an excellent running catch to end Short’s stay.

Coming in as a stand-in captain in Pat Cummins’ absence, Steve Smith had an awful outing with the bat in hand. There was a hint of movement from Krishna, who bowled a back-of-a-length delivery to get a thick outside edge off Smith’s bat.

Shubman Gill took a sharp catch at first slip, as Australia were in trouble early on a track which seemed a batting paradise.

At the time of writing, Australia have come back strongly, reaching 44/2 in 7.1 overs, with Marnus Labuschagne and David Warner steadying the ship.
