Prominent Australian spinner Adam Zampa had a dream start with the ball in the ongoing T20 World Cup match against England as he got the prized breakthrough of Phil Salt on his very first delivery.

Chasing a steep 202-run target England were cruising at one stage, courtesy of a scintillating opening stand between Salt and skipper Jos Buttler. However, Zampa's timely strike brought some respite to the Aussie camp, giving them a much-needed breakthrough.

The incident occurred during the eighth over of England's innings when Salt had already raced to 37 runs off just 23 deliveries.

After the pacers failed to break the opening partnership, Australian skipper Mitchell Marsh introduced Zampa into the attack and the move paid rich dividends.

Coming from over the wicket, Zampa bowled a quicker one that skidded through to push Salt on his back foot. As there was not enough room, the keeper-batter was cleaned up while attempting for a cut shot.

Thus, Salt, who contributed a quick-fire cameo, became Zampa's first victim, failing well short of a deserved half century. Captain Buttler also fell prey to the wily spinner, getting caught inside the circle while playing a reverse sweep.

Zampa's twin strikes brought Australia back into the contest. As of writing, the Englishmen were 93 for two at the halfway mark, with Will Jacks and Jonny Bairstow unbeaten in the middle.
