The Netherlands men are trying to punch above their weight in their World Cup 2023 match against New Zealand in Hyderabad on Monday. The Black Caps batters may have been scoring runs with ease, however, the Dutch bowlers have also been bowling at some tight lines and lengths.

Will Young and Devon Conway started the innings with a bang, but the latter missed on bagging back-to-back fifty-plus scores as Roelof van der Merwe removed him with a ripper. The right-hander opener did notch a half-century, however, he could not convert it into a three-figure mark.

Batting at 70, Young got a short of a length delivery into his body. The batter tried pulling it out of the park, but a ball from Paul van Meekeren came late off the surface and the ball didn't meet the meat of the blade to balloon straight to Bas de Leede at mid-on.

The Kiwi hero from the last game, Rachin Ravindra - who is playing in place of an injured Kane Williamson, notched another half-century in the pinnacle tournament. But, his stay was cut short by van der Merwe as soon as the batting all-rounder reached his fifty.

At the time of writing, the Black Caps are racing towards 200 with 15 overs still to go. Stand-in skipper Tom Latham and Daryl Mitchell are the two unbeaten batters at the crease right now.
