Pat Cummins, the Australian skipper in ODIs and Test cricket made a comeback in the Australia's domestic One-Day Cup after more than three years. New South Wales batted first and scored 336 in the first innings with three batters scoring in excess of fifty. It was a curtailed game of 45 overs and Pat Cummins walked out to the middle in the 44th over.
Fergus Oneill was the bowler and he delivered a slower full ball on off, first up to Pat Cummins. The star player picked it, he stayed deep in his crease and launched it over wide long on for a huge six. It was quite a hit and a statement from Pat Cummins, who has used long handle to great effect in the past as well.
Pat Cummins Delivers Impressive Spell In His NSW Return
He departed on the second ball as Peter Siddle got the better of him and then delivered a lovely spell with the ball in hand. He bowled seven overs for 36 runs with one wicket of Sam Harper and Victoria were bowled out for just 196.
New South Wales won the game by 140 runs and they are at the top of the table with three wins from four matches so far. One game has produced no result while Victoria are second with two wins and one loss in four matches. At the bottom of the table is Western Australia with just one win out of the four matches.
As for Pat Cummins is concerned, he would lead Australia in the ODI series against Pakistan and has started his preperation well with a good performance in this domestic game.
