In a recent podcast, the Australian skipper, Pat Cummins, was found to be in a candid mood. Among many things, he also talked about the upcoming Border Gavaskar Trophy.

Notably, India emerged victorious on its last two tours to Australia. When asked about the defeat that was harder to accept, Pat Cummins referred to the one in 2018-19. The pacer felt that Australia was defeated during that series.

Pat Cummins is ready to use Cameron Green as the scapegoat

This conversation was going on the popular YouTube channel, The Grade Cricketer. To Cummins' reply, the host said that Australia had excuses for not having Warner and Smith the last time, but they won't have any this time. This is where the Australian skipper gave a witty reply and said -

"I'll find some. No Cam Green, he was supposed to open bat and bowl."

Notably, India will play their first Test in the Australia tour at Perth on 22nd November. The two teams will play each other in five Tests.

Australia eye to win back the Border Gavaskar Trophy

The Australian team will be eager to put on a solid show and win the series this time. They have been defeated in the Border Gavaskar Trophy the last four times. They will look to turn the tables this time around and win the BGT back.

Besides the Broder Gavaskar Trophy being on the line, WTC final qualification will also be at stake during the series. There will be scenarios that both the teams will be looking at throughout the series to ensure their qualification to the Final of the WTC cycle 2023-25.
