Mohammad Amir made headlines on Wednesday in Match 7 of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2023 in Basseterre. Playing for Jamaica Tallawahs, the 31-year-old Pakistani international bowled 18 dot balls and claimed excellent figures of 3/20 off his four allotted overs to help his side win by eight wickets.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots skipper Evin Lewis became his first victim as Amir was at his scintillating best. In the third over, the West Indies opener holed out to Fabian Allen after scoring an eight-ball nine.

Amir struck again during the 17th over. He cleaned up Sheldon Cottrell with a beautiful delivery and then completed a well-deserved three-wicket haul by dismissing Blessing Muzarabani in the following over.

Coming to chase 157, Brandon King starred with the bat for the Tallawahs, hitting a fiery 33-ball 67 to set the platform for others. Kirk McKenzie (23), Shamarh Brooks (38*) and Amir Jangoo (17*) did the rest, as the visitors got the job done in just 16.3 overs with eight wickets to spare.
