After a disappointing turn of events last year, India will get another opportunity to make amends as the Asia Cup returns, this time in the One-day format. Meanwhile, the India players are busy sweating it out in a six-day conditioning camp that has started on Thursday at Bengaluru.

After their camp in Bengaluru, the team will take the flight to Colombo on August 30, as per an ESPNCricinfo report. Which means the players will not get much time to acclimatise to the conditions as India are scheduled to play their opening match versus Pakistan only two days after their arrival in Sri Lanka.

Placed alongside Pakistan and Nepal in Group A, India have two fixtures in the first stage of the Asia Cup. If India qualify for the Super Fours, they will get three more matches, and an additional game if they make the final.

The Asia Cup 2023 will serve as an ideal preparation for India as they will be involved in a highly competitive tournament just before the World Cup.

The Asia Cup will be followed by an ODI series against Australia which is India's final assignment prior the World Cup.
