Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood, currently playing for Hampshire, slammed the highest score in Global Super League’s history. Batting first, Masood scored 79 off 54 balls with 8 boundaries and 2 sixes to propel his team to a total of 146/6.

The Global Super League’s inaugural season kicked off last week at Providence Stadium in Guyana. For the 6th matchup, Hampshire locked horns against Guyana Amazon Warriors. The latter won the toss and invited the former to bat first. Interestingly, Hampshire had a dampened start, with both openers dismissed in powerplay. In the face of adversity, Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood stepped up. 

Shan Masood scripts record in GSL 2024

In a composed innings, Shan Masood took on Roston Chase for 5 boundaries in the 5th over. He went after Imran Tahir to bring up his maiden maximum of the evening. Masood’s assault extended against Gudakesh Motie as he slammed back-to-back boundaries to bring up his fifty.

When Shan Masood was stumped by Shai Hope on Tahir’s googly, he had amassed 79 off 54 balls, the highest score in Global Super League history. Owing to his record inning, Hampshire finished the inning with 146 runs on the board. 

However, Masood’s heroics were wasted as Amazon Warriors chased the total in 18.2 overs. Currently, Hampshire is seated third on the points table with 2 points in 3 games.

Moeen Ali lits up GSL 2024 with amazing power-hitting

Days after getting picked up by KKR in the IPL 2025 mega auction, all-rounder Moeen Ali flaunted his muscles in the Global Super League contest between Guyana Amazon Warriors and Victoria. He opened the innings for the Amazon Warriors and smashed 4 sixes to bring up 51 runs in just 33 balls. 

His innings powered his team to a 162/6 total before Victoria bounced back to steal a 4 wickets victory. Regardless, Ali’s form will bring relief to KKR as they plan to utilise his all-around abilities in IPL 2025.
