Fakhar Zaman has found himself in a tough spot lately, with PCB turning a blind eye towards him. The veteran batter has been dropped from the squad for the tour of South Africa and was earlier snubbed from Pakistan's white-ball teams for the Australia tour as well.

It’s no secret that Zaman expressed his frustration over what he perceived as bias within the PCB, questioning the selection of unfit players while he sat on the sidelines. However, the 34-year-old decided to silence his critics with his performance in the Champions Cup.

In the first match of the Champions T20 Cup at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Zaman announced his presence with an athletic catch. In the second over during Nurpur Lion's innings, Nisar Ahmad came in over the wicket pitching a good-length delivery. Zeeshan Malik stroke it off with a slog and sent the ball high up in the air.

Fakhar Zaman, who was positioned at deep mid-wicket, kept his eye on the ball and sprinted backwards, pulling off an athletic one-handed catch that was nearly a blinder.

The Nurpur Lions set a competitive target of 150 runs after batting first, led by a solid innings from Awais Zafar. On the Markhor side, Nisar Ahmad, Mohammad Sarwar Afridi, and Saad Masood each claimed two wickets to put the Lions under pressure.

The Markhors however, marched with a confident victory with Fakhar Zaman scoring 28 runs off 25 balls before he was dismissed by Mohammad Salman. The Iftikhar Ahmed led side secured a 4-wicket victory with one over left to spare.
