Pakistan were in a spot of bother after a humiliating defeat against India in their Women's Asia Cup 2024 opener. However, unlike their men, they did not lose hope, as two big-margin victories helped them to almost reach the semi-finals of the competition.

While the first one was against Nepal by nine wickets, the last one came on Tuesday, against the UAE. Chasing a paltry 104-run target, Gull Feroza and Muneeba Ali -- two reliable openers -- left the field unscratched.

The pair forged an unbeaten 107-run stand, in which Feroza made 62* off 55 balls and Muneeba Ali made 37* off 30 balls to take their side home in just 14.1 overs.

Meanwhile, India are still on top of Group A, having beaten Pakistan and the UAE comprehensively. They will next face Nepal, which will take place later tonight at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium, Dambulla.

In other group, Sri Lanka are at the top of Group B, having won both their matches. Thailand and Bangladesh have won one and lost one, while Malaysia are bottom, with two defeats.
