Afghanistan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq's stint with Leicestershire in the ongoing T20 Blast has been a mixed bag. Haq, who so far in three matches has claimed 3 wickets, which includes a two-wicket haul against Durham last evening at Chester-le-Street.

Leicestershire's bowling led by Haq and Josh Hull restricted Durham to 168, which the Colin Ackermann-captained side chased down with much ease courtesy of Louis Kimber's 28-ball 55.

However, the highlight was Haq's second wicket, which came in the penultimate over for Durham. The Afghan pacer rattled Liam Trevaskis' leg stump coming round the wicket.

Trevaskis swung hard, but found himself early into the shot, only to witness his leg-stump cart-wheel over for a 2-ball 1.

Haq finished with figures of 2 for 35, picking up Trevaskis and Michael Jones. Leicestershire are currently placed last in the North Group standing with one win and five losses.

Prior to joining Leicestershire, Haq played for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, which was quite spicy.

Haq found himself in the middle of a controversy involving former India skipper Virat Kohli, during LSG's home encounter against Royal Challengers Bangalore, for which the bowler was reprimanded by IPL authorities as well.

The 23-year-old despite all off-field war of words, shined for LSG on the ground, claiming 11 wickets in eight matches, including a four-wicket haul against five-time champions Mumbai Indians in Eliminator in Chennai.
