Islamabad United fast bowler Hunain Shah got rid of Karachi Kings captain and opening batsman Shan Masood inside the opening over of his spell.

Turning up for his side in match number 15 of the ongoing PSL 2024 season, the 20-year-old clattered Masood’s off-stump as Kings slumped to 73-3 by the end of their first 10 overs.

Karachi Kings captain Shan Masood cautiously crafted his way to a 29-ball 27 against Islamabad United at the National Stadium in Karachi.

At a time when the senior Pakistan batsman was looking all set to lead his side’s run-scoring charge in the backend of the innings, he had his off-stump uprooted by Islamabad United’s young fast bowler Hunain Shah in the first over of the latter’s spell.

Shortly after Hunain Shah’s timely strike, his elder brother Naseem Shah trapped middle-order batter Mohammad Nawaz to further worsen Karachi Kings’ batting woes at the National Stadium.

Earlier in the match, spinner Imad Wasim removed Karachi Kings opening batsman Tim Seifert for eight in just the third over of the innings. Leus du Plooy subsequently led his team’s run-scoring recovery by clubbing a 15-ball 24 from his end.

Senior man Shoaib Malik also failed to get going in his innings as he was run out owing to some collective brilliance from United captain Shadab Khan and wicketkeeper Azam Khan.

After Kings slipped to 89-5, Kieron Pollard and Irfan Khan took them past the 100-run mark with some lusty blows by none other other than the big man, Kieron Pollard.
