In the Women's Premier League 2024, Royal Challengers Bangalore Women outplayed Gujarat Giants in a thrilling encounter.

Opting to bowl first, RCB's decision proved fruitful as they restricted Gujarat to a modest 107 runs. Impressive bowling performances by Renuka Singh and Molineux dismantled the opposition's batting lineup, with the latter securing three crucial wickets.

Chasing the target, RCB displayed a dominant batting performance, achieving the required runs in just 13 overs with eight wickets in hand. Captain Smriti Mandhana, speaking after the match, highlighted the team's simple strategy, stating,

"Just watch the ball and react. Me and Sophie play the best without thinking so there was no message about finishing in certain overs. Sometimes these totals can be tricky if you lose 2 or 3. It was about watching the ball and play accordingly."

Meghana's brilliant innings of 36 runs from 28 balls, supported by Perry's aggressive batting, ensured RCB's comfortable victory. Mandhana praised Meghana's composure and ability to anchor the innings, emphasising the team's hard work and dedication over the past year.

The Bengaluru-based franchise showcased their strength and determination, backed by enthusiastic support from the crowd. Mandhana credited the support and said,

"Really happy with the way the crowd turned out, a big shout out to them as well.”

In the chase, Mandhana and Devine provided a solid start, forging a 32-run partnership before Devine's dismissal. Meghana's aggressive batting propelled RCB towards victory, as she smashed five fours and one six in her innings.

With this win, RCB secured their second consecutive victory in the WPL 2024, further solidifying their position in the tournament.
