In the ongoing BPL match between Fortune Barishal and Rangpur Riders at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Bangladesh skipper Najmul Shanto has hogged the internet after he produced a lightning-fast stumping. 

The Riders won the toss and opted to field first. The decision did not go well as the Barishal, batting first, put 197 runs on the board. It was the top-order show, as Tamim Iqbal, Najmul Shanto, and Kyle Mayers all registered 40+ scores on the board. 

Najmul Shanto Shines In New Role

Talking about Shanto, not only he return to form with the bat, but also stole the limelight with his keeping skills. Shanto is not a regular keeper but took on the new role a couple of games ago. The right-hand batter, couldn't deliver much with the gloves in the previous match, but shone by producing a brilliant stumping in the 2nd over.

Notably, on the 1st ball of the 2nd over, Tanvir Islam bowled a brilliant delivery that forced Alex Hales to step out on the crease. After being deceived in the air, it was Najmul Shanto show as he removed the bails in the blink of an eye. Watch the incident here. 


Najmul Shanto To Keep In Champions Trophy For Bangladesh?

Shanto doing the glovework has also got the fans talking about a potential change in the squad for Champions Trophy 2025. The prestigious fifty-over tournament is the next big event for Bangladesh and with their skipper Shanto keeping wickets, the fans are worried that it might be the end of road for Litton Das.

Nonetheless, Shanto was elated after his stumping and jumped in joy to celebrate the dismissal. Further, Mahmudullah was equally happy as well and was running around in happiness. Talking about the match, the Riders are 143/3 after 16 overs and require 55 to win in 24 balls.
