On a tricky surface, the South African team elected to bowl first and the decision paid off dividend as the Proteas pacers ran riot in the opening session of play. However, the Pakistan side lost a flurry of wickets and it brought in Mohammad Rizwan to the crease who started on the front-foot against the home team bowlers.
Rizwan's unique way to deal with injury
The elegant batter played some lovely strokes as he looked settled on a difficult surface. However, a Kagiso Rabada delivery struck him on his thumb and the keeper-batter found a unique way to deal with it.
Rabada bowled a hard length ball and it had some extra bounce as the ball struck Mohammad Rizwan on the right thumb. The batter looked in some pain but he found a brilliant way to shrug it off. Rizwan rubbed his thumb vigorously on the surface and within seconds looked comfortable to bat.
