The first Test between Pakistan and South Africa is underway at the Supersport Park in Centurion. The hosts won the toss and opted to field first. The decision turned out to be great as the Proteas got two early wickets to leave Pakistan crippled.
Shan Masood was the first one to go after debutant Corbin Bosch got rid of the Pakistani skipper on the first ball of his international career. Eyes were on Saim Ayub, who smashed two centuries in the recently concluded ODI series against the Proteas. However, he registered a flop show with the bat and returned to the pavilion with a low score of 14 (35), which featured just two boundaries.
Saim Ayub Flops In First Test
The important breakthrough came on the 4th ball of the 16th over when Dane Peterson bowled a beautiful seaming delivery that flicked the edge of Ayub's bat, and the wicket-keeper made no mistake. It was the faintest of edges, but the South African players knew the value of the wicket as they were jumping in joy.
Meanwhile, Aiden Markram hogged the internet after he displayed rare emotions and was seen celebrating standing at the slips. Watch the wicket here.
