Mohammad Rizwan’s rampage in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 continued on Tuesday (March 12) during the final league match of the ongoing edition between Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators, taking place at Karachi’s National Stadium.

The Pakistani wicket-keeper batter, who was the highest run-scorer in the last edition, set up his authority against the Quetta bowlers, and the manner in which he smashed Abrar Ahmed for a flamboyant six told the story of how good his form has been.

Having been put into bat first, Rizwan, Multan’s skipper, came to open the innings as usual. Quetta’s captain, Rilee Rossouw, introduced mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed into the attack inside the Powerplay. Rizwan started off with a single, and then, a ball later, came down the ground to blast a spectacular six over mid-off.

At this point, Multan’s score reads 65/1 after 9 overs, with Rizwan batting on 30* alongside Usman Khan, who is on 21*.

Multan are currently second on the points table, behind Babar Azam's Peshawar Zalmi. If they win, Babar versus Rizwan will take place in the Qualifier 1 at this venue on March 14. Or even if they lose, they will still finish second.
