Australia's ace speedster Mitchell Starc showcased his incredible fielding skills this evening, as his valiant sliding catch helped Kolkata Knight Riders get the prized scalp of Tristan Stubbs in their ongoing IPL 2024 clash against Delhi Capitals.

The incident occurred in the 15th over of the Capitals' innings when they were down on the mat, placed at 148 for six in pursuit of a mammoth 273-run target.

After keeping things tight in his first three deliveries, KKR spinner Varun Chakravarthy offered width outside the off stump as Stubbs dispatched the ball powerfully to add four runs to his tally.

However, the mystery spinner made a roaring comeback, dismissing the Proteas batter on his next ball.

Chakravarthy bowled a full-length delivery around the leg stump as Stubbs played an aerial slog sweep. However, he only managed to find Mitchell Starc in the deep, who took an athletic sliding catch, exhibiting his fielding prowess.

Stubbs, battling an already lost battle for the Capitals, was thus dismissed after scoring a rapid 32-ball 54, studded with four sixes and as many boundaries.

His wicket was the final nail in the coffin for DC, who are reeling at 162 for nine in 16.4 overs as of writing. Barring Stubbs, Rishabh Pant was the only DC batter to make an impact, amassing a glorious 25-ball 55.
