Experienced Indian batter Shreyas Iyer fell prey to a short delivery once again, as left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed got his prized wicket in Delhi Capitals' ongoing IPL 2024 match against Kolkata Knight Riders.

The incident occurred in the 18th over of KKR's innings when DC skipper Rishabh Pant turned up to Khaleel in pursuit of a breakthrough. His decision proved to be a masterstroke, with the talented seamer getting Iyer on his second delivery.

Khaleel, who had a torrid start to this match, began his over on a poor note, as Iyer hammered him for an outrageous one-handed six over deep point. However, the pacer bounced back remarkably, dismissing the well-set batter with a bumper.

Coming around the wicket, Khaleel banged it short, as Iyer went for a wild swivel pull over the leg side. However, he couldn't time it properly, with the ball gobbling up in the air for a long time.

Delhi Capitals' Tristan Stubbs, placed inside the ring, held on to an easy catch, sending the Indian batter back to the dugout.

However, Iyer's dismissal turned out to be a blessing in disguise for KKR, as Rinku Singh ensured a fantastic finish for them with a breezy 8-ball 26-run cameo.

As of writing, the Knight Riders were in the driving seat, placed at 264 for five in 19 overs, with Andre Russell and Venkatesh Iyer batting in the middle.
