Afghanistan Hire CSK Legend As Coach Ahead Of T20 World Cup 2024

As T20 World Cup 2024 is around the corner, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) roped in Dwayne Bravo, one of the legendary individuals who kept taking wickets for fun for Chennai Super Kings (CSK), as their bowling consultant for the showpiece event.

It was a brilliant move by ACB, as Bravo hails from the West Indies, one of the two host nations alongside the USA, which will have the T20 World Cup in their land next month.

Not to forget, Bravo is the two-time T20 World Cup-winning champion under the leadership of Darren Sammy. He still remains the highest wicket-taker in T20s, having snared 625 scalps in 573 matches.

For those who don’t know, Bravo is the bowling coach for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2024, where he has an enormous record of picking up 183 wickets from 161 matches. 

Bravo won the Purple Cap, an award for the highest wicket-taker in the competition, twice, in 2013 and 2015. Only Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who represents Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), has achieved the feat in the history of the competition.

Led by Rashid Khan, Afghanistan's spirited squad are pooled into Group C in the T20 World Cup, along with New Zealand, West Indies, Uganda, and Papua New Guinea. Their campaign will begin on June 4, against Uganda.
