Sunil Gavaskar interacted with a number of Pakistan supporters at Cape Town after Team India walloped South Africa by seven wickets. The former Indian cricketer and all-time great batsman was present at the iconic venue as part of his commentary duties for the official broadcasters.

Upon being halted by over-enthusiastic Pakistan cricket fans near the boundary, Gavaskar delightfully acknowledged them by answering their questions.

Former Indian cricketer and active commentator Sunil Gavaskar was halted by a number of Pakistan fans near the boundary line after Team India defeated hosts South Africa at Cape Town’s Newlands Cricket Ground.

The Pakistan contingent present at the stadium enthusiastically asked Gavaskar about his favourite players from the Pakistan team. The legendary Indian batsman delightfully responded to their query by naming Zaheer Abbas, Imran Khan, Javed Miandad and Wasim Akram among his all-time favourite Pakistan players. Moreover, Gavaskar also picked Babar Azam as his favourite contemporary Pakistani player in their modern-day line-up.

Sunil Gavaskar himself boasted of a staggering record against Pakistan, amassing over 2,000 runs from just 41 Test innings at an alluring average of 56.45 during his playing days.

After concluding his illustrious Test and international career in 1987, the legendary opening batsman took up commentary duties, helmed various responsibilities with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), and also served the sport as the chairman of the ICC cricket committee for a brief period.
