Mitchell Marsh showcased his batting prowess against India on Wednesday (September 27) in the third and final ODI at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Rajkot. The Australian all-rounder, who missed the second ODI in Indore to manage his workload, began his outing in Rajkot with a bang.

Marsh departed cheaply in Mohali in the series opener, having scored a run-a-ball four. However, he did not miss out on the third ODI, and more importantly, Jasprit Bumrah was at the receiving end when he set himself in the middle in Rajkot.

As many as 14 runs came off the third over by Bumrah, which included two fours and a six. Marsh struck all of them, and the one he smashed over deep mid-wicket demonstrated that he was not in the mood to simply pause in the middle.

With a stunning lofted shot over mid-off for four, Marsh started the Bumrah over. The stylish all-rounder advanced and played a classy drive through the line. He played that six after that, staying back to hit cleanly for an amazing maximum.



After that, Bumrah provided some width, which Marsh seized with both hands and smoked through point for another four, bringing the tally to 14 runs in the over.

At the time of writing, Australia have raced to 78/0 in eight overs, with David Warner and Mitchell Marsh going strong, on 56* and 22* respectively.
