On Saturday, January 25, MI Emirates locked horns against Gulf Giants in ILT20. It was a great night for the Giants as they handed the Emirates a two-wicket win. The Nicholas Pooran-led side, batting first, put 151 runs on the board.

In reply, the Giants chased down the target on the last ball of the match. The match was full of drama as the spirit of the game too came into question. Notably, on the last ball of the 18th over, Mark Adair took a single by pushing the ball towards long-off. Kieron Pollard collected the ball and threw it back towards Pooran, who kept gloves.

Meanwhile, Tom Curran had left his crease early, assuming the ball was dead, but Pooran quickly removed the bails and appealed to the umpires for a run-out. The third umpire took the decision in the fielding team's decision, and Curran had to walk back towards the pavilion.

Giants' coach Andy Flower, who is also RCB's head coach, wasn't pleased with the decision and was standing near the boundary ropes in anger. Despite his protest, Tom Curran started to walk back. However, the Emirates cancelled their appearance and asked Curran to return to bat. It was followed by a round of applause from the Giants' dug-out.

It left the internet divided as a section appreciated Emirates for cancelling the appeal, while others were angry as Tom Curran had a brain fade moment and should have been given out.
