The Oval Invincible Women are playing against the Trent Rockets Women in the 31st match of The Women's Hundred. This match is being played at the Trent Bridge in Nottingham.

The Oval Invincibles won the toss in this game and opted to field first. A lot of the Trent's batting effort depended on their opening pair of Bryony Smith and Grace Scrivens. However, the South African all-rounder, Marizanne Kapp ensured that the opening wicket of the Trent Rockets did not prosper much. She got rid off both the openers in the second set of the match.

Out of these two wickets, the one of Bryony Smith deserves special mention. Bryony Smith is known for her hitting abilities. She can take the game away from the opposition with her powerful shots early in the innings. 

On the first ball of the second set, Kapp bowled a back of a good length delivery at the off and middle stump. Smith swung across the line of the ball and tried to clear the mid-wicket fielder inside the ring. However, she did not get the proper connection as Kapp took a bit pace off the delivery. But due to Smith's power the ball was travelling towards the boundary with great speed. 


Mady Villiers takes an unreal catch

Mady Villiers,  who was stationed at the short mid-wicket dived at the correct moment and put her left hand out to pluck the ball out of thin air. It was an unreal catch and the major credit for this wicket must given to the fielder. The unreal effort that Villers put was quite close to an Olympic level acrobat. 

The two early wickets by Kapp rocked the Oval team and they failed recover from it. They stuttered throughout their innings and could only manage 91/8 in their 100 balls.
