Experienced Sri Lankan cricketer Kusal Mendis had a memorable day in his side's final T20 World Cup clash against the Netherlands at Daren Sammy Stadium in St Lucia. 

After leading the Lankan batting chart with a flamboyant 46-run knock, Mendis showcased his remarkable wicket-keeping skills to dismiss Logan Van Beek at a crucial juncture. 

The incident occurred during the tenth over of the Dutch innings when they already had lost the plot due to a batting collapse. 

Bowling the second over of his four-over spell, Lankan skipper Wanindu Hasaranga initially kept things tight, conceding only two runs off his first three deliveries. 

The wily leg spinner got the prized scalp of Bas de Leede on his fourth ball before Mendis' magical keeping got rid of Van Beek on the next ball. 

It was a full-length ball from Hasaranga as Van Beek went for an audacious sweep shot. However, the Dutch bowling all-rounder failed to connect it properly, with the ball travelling to Mendis behind the stumps after being deflected off his inside edge. 

The Lankan keeper exhibited sharp reflexes as he collected the ball in time and dislodged the bails in a flash, finding Van Beek short of his crease. 

Chasing a mammoth target of 202-run target, the Dutch fell flat against a rampant Lankan bowling attack, being bowled out for 118 runs in 16.4 overs. On the other hand, Bangladesh entered the Super Eights following their emphatic victory over Nepal in St Vincent.
