Riding on a spectacular fielding effort from Heinrich Klaasen, South Africa registered a narrow one-run win over Nepal in the T20 World Cup affair between the two sides at Arnos Vale Stadium in St Vincent. Chasing 116, Nepal were on the verge of a historic win before Klaasen's stunning throw left them shell-shocked.

The final over bowled by Ottniel Baartman was nothing short of dramatic as the game kept swinging both ways before the Proteas had the last laugh. The over began with two dot balls, however, Nepal's Gulshan Jha connected the third ball, dispatching it to the boundary.

Jha folowed it up with a brace before another dot ball from Baartman brought the equation down to two runs in one ball for Nepal to seal a victory for ages.

Coming from over the wicket, Baartman bowled a bouncer, which Jha missed, with Quinton de Kock collecting the ball successfully behind the stumps.

However, De Kock threw the ball towards the non-strikers end as Klaasen collected it in time and hit the bull's eye with a sensational back-hand throw.

As Jha was short of his crease, the TV umpire declared him out, with South Africa winning the match by a solitary run.

With this victory, Aiden Markram and co entered the Super Eights undefeated. Meanwhile, Nepal suffered a group-stage elimination despite showing great character in this match.
