In a thrilling encounter between the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Eden Gardens, the departure of KL Rahul has tilted the balance of the game. 

The 28th match of the IPL 2024 season saw LSG being invited to bat first by the home team, KKR. After the dismissals of Quinton de Kock and Deepak Hooda, the responsibility of stabilising the innings fell on KL Rahul, the skipper of LSG.

 Rahul showcased his batting prowess, steering the team through a challenging phase. However, his promising knock was cut short by Andre Russell.

It was the 11th over of the match when Andre Russell stepped up to bowl. Rahul, in his characteristic style, welcomed him with a towering six.

Yet, Russell had a fitting response, inducing a false stroke from the LSG captain. Aiming for another big shot, Rahul found himself caught at deep mid-wicket by Ramandeep.

Despite his valiant effort, Rahul could only manage 39 runs before departing. His dismissal has put LSG on the backfoot, with the team standing at 96 for 4 in 13 overs at the time of this report.
