[Watch] Kasun Rajitha Gives Jonny Bairstow A Mouthful 'Aggressive' Send Off

Riding on a stupendous performance from the bowlers, Sri Lanka have got a magnificent start to their World Cup clash against England in Bengaluru. After opting to bat on a placid surface, the Englishmen went off to a flier, courtesy of the early fireworks from Dawid Malan and Jonny Bairstow.

However, the comeback man Angelo Mathews triggered a collapse by getting rid of Malan in his first over before Joe Root was run out a few overs later. But in another massive setback, Kasun Rajitha dismissed Jonny Bairstow 22 balls later, leaving England reeling at 68 for three.

The incident occurred in the 14th over when Lankan skipper Kusal Mendis turned up to Rajitha to break the budding stand between Bairstow and Ben Stokes.

He bowled a short-of-good-length delivery, which Bairstow tried to whack in the onside. However, he timed it horribly, as Dhananjaya de Silva took a running catch to end his brief stay.

After getting Bairstow out, Rajitha celebrated wildly, giving the batter an aggressive send off. English captain Jos Buttler followed Bairstow, being dismissed by ace Lankan speedster Lahiru Kumara. As of writing, England are in all sorts of trouble, placed at 77 for four with Stokes and Liam Livingstone unbeaten in the middle.
