Jos Buttler is one of the most fearsome batters in world cricket, and when he gets going, it is pretty hard to stop him. However, the World Cup 2023 has been nothing short of a nightmare for the English skipper, as he has failed big time both with the bat and as a leader. It was expected that he would fire against the Netherlands at least at Pune, but his poor form continued as Buttler departed for just 5 from 11 balls.
It was the fifth wicket for Netherlands as England were reduced to 178-5 after starting off quite well. Paul van Meekeren was the one who got the big wicket of Buttler as he bowled a fullish delivery on off. English skipper tried to pump it over mid off for a boundary but could not get enough elevation as he hit it straight to Teja Nidamanuru who took a sharp catch.

England went onto lose Moeen Ali's wicket soon and were reduced to 192-6 as their famed batting line-up has once again failed to deliver on a pitch that looks quite good for batting. Ben Stokes is the only one who is showing some application but he would need support of other players, if they want to get to a competitive total.
