England wicket-keeper Jonny Bairstow took a one-handed blinder to dismiss Australia’s Mitchell Marsh on Day 1 of the ongoing fourth Ashes Test in Manchester.

The incident occurred during the 63rd over of Australia's first innings, when Ben Stokes brought Chris Woakes back into the attack. Firstly, Woakes removed Cameron Green in the very first delivery of the over and went on to send back Mitchell Marsh in the fifth delivery of the very same over.

Bowling over the wicket, Woakes pitched it on the length and managed to deceive Marsh, who edged it through the keeper. Bairstow behind the wicket made no mistake as he plucked an one-handed beauty, diving towards his right.

Bairstow raised both of his arms in delight as his teammates surrounded him with joy. The crowd went crazy as Woakes got rid of both the set batters within five deliveries.

Marsh had to walk back to the pavilion for a well made 51 after coming to bat when Australia were four down with 183 on the board. Australia further lost their fifth wicket and Marsh alongside Green added 65 runs for the sixth wicket.

The Marsh-Green partnership was turning the momentum towards Australia but Woakes, who previously dismissed a set David Warner, came back into the attack and struck two quick wickets to bring England back in control.

Earlier, England won the toss and elected to bowl first. Batting first, Australia are now 264 for 7 at the time of writing this with Alex Carey and Mitchell Starc batting in the middle. The duo will try to build a partnership from here and end the day’s play on a high without losing any further wickets.
