Jonny Bairstow dropped easily the simplest catch of the IPL 2024 on Wednesday (May 1) in Match 49 of IPL 2024 between Punjab Kings and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Chepauk.

The incident happened during the 18th over of CSK's innings, when Arshdeep Singh was into the attack. Moeen Ali, batting on 4 off 4 balls, saw a full delivery outside the off stump, and went for a lofted shot over long-off with the flat bat.

However, the timing was not there, and the ball was going straight into the hands of Bairstow. The Englishman tried to complete the catch in a reverse cup style, but he made a meal of it before sending the ball over the boundary ropes for six runs.

Moeen, nevertheless, failed to make the full use of it lifeline, as he fell to Rahul Chahar in the following over.
