Match two of the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2023 between St Lucia Kings and Barbados Royals ended being a one-sided affair, as the Faf du Plessis-led XI won the encounter by 54 runs.

However, the highlight apart from Barbados Royals' poor batting, and Jason Holder's four-for, was Kings' opener Johnson Charles's six.

The match is taking place at the iconic Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in St Lucia, which also houses a 'Johnson Charles' stand behind the deep backward square region.

Charles managed to hit pacer Obed McCoy for a massive slog that cleared the boundary ropes and went up and over his stand.

Interestingly, in the second over, McCoy had dropped Charles on 6, who ended up scoring a quick-fire 30 off 19, with five fours and one six. The dashing batter added 61 runs with du Plessis, before getting bowled by Holder.

The 34-year-old is also the leading run-getter in CPL history with 2,671 surpassing Lendl Simmons (2,629). Charles reached this remarkable feat during the tournament opener on August 17 against Jamaica Tallawahs.
