The new 'Bazball' approach has instilled an aggression in almost all the English batters, including Joe Root.

The English batter known for his pristine technique and composure at the crease, has added quite a few shots to his repertoire to cope up with the new England approach under Baz McCullum and Ben Stokes.

In the first innings of the ongoing Ashes Test, Root rattled Scott Boland's line and length when he smacked Scott Boland with an innovative reverse scoop that took everyone by surprise.

Well, lightning does strike twice, and it did on the fourth day of the Test match, when Root once again went after Boland and played the exact same shot for maximum reward.

Boland bowled a good length delivery, targeting the off stump and Root was ready to take him down. He anticipated the line and adjusted his position to reverse scoop the ball over the keeper's head as it went over the ropes for a six. Root didn't stop there, as on the very next ball, he attempted the same trick and got the desired result.

The crowd went wild and Boland couldn't believed what just happened. Interestingly, Root tried the very same shot on the first delivery of the day, when he attempted it against Pat Cummins, but failed to connect with the ball.

At the time of writing, England are 63 for 2 inside 15 overs. Root is batting on a run-a-ball 23, and England lead by 70.
