One of the most talked about rivalries during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 was between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Both teams were engaged in a high-voltage encounter at Chinnaswamy, where emotions flared as the LSG prevailed over RCB on the final ball of the match, inviting some insane celebrations from Ravi Bishnoi and Avesh Khan.

Khan, in particular, went overboard with his celebrations, as the bowler ended up slamming his helmet onto the ground after completing the winning single for his side, which took social media by storm.

Now, in an interview with Indian Express, the 26-year-old has opened up on his wild antics, which he admits was in the heat of the moment, and after reflection feels said about the same.

Here's what Khan said

"Yeh social media mein mera mahool bana rehta hai aur helmet incident thoda jyada hogaya tha (I always trending on social media but I underwent with the helmet incident). I realised later that I shouldn’t have done this. It just happened in the heat of the moment. I now feel sad that I shouldn't have done that."

The speedster, who claimed eight wickets in nine matches this season, sounded pleased with his performances in IPL 2023, having donned the role of a death-overs specialist.

"If you compare my past two IPL seasons before this one, it went the way I wanted too. However, even though the season didn’t go well as per my standard, I maintained my economy rate, which is less than 10. I bowl crucial overs 4 or 5th over and later in death."

Overall, in 47 IPL matches since 2017, Khan has claimed 55 wickets having represented teams like RCB, and Delhi Capitals (DC), apart from LSG.
